How I Turned A Successful Photographer's Inquires
From Steady To Booked Out A Year In Advance
So there’s a kajillion other professionals who do what you do and they do it well too? They’re ranking in search, have copy packed with personality, and seem to book out their year in advance.
That was the case for my elopement photographer client, Kelly. She did well, but could she be doing better?
She had numerous awards and was looked up in the industry. She had regular bookings and always a busy peak season. She had already invested in professional copywriting a couple of years before, so there was nothing outright wrong with her website.
Her dream was to get her website ranking higher in search so she could focus less on marketing and more on adventuring with her couples.
The thing is, there are a lot of photographers who are really good at photos and SEO. Plus, it’s not just good photos and showing up in search that will get you clients. You need to vibe with the couple, too.
She needed the trifecta—expertise, personality, and SEO. Was there too much competition, though? How many different ways can you say you’re an adventure photographer who is fun to be around and down for anything? Would getting a custom website package with client interviews, UX mapping, and SEO research really make a difference? Was she wanting too much?
She decided to focus on one page in particular that would turn into a sales page of sorts—her pricing and packages page. It would be long and target one primary keyword— “elopement packages,” a term that gets thousands of searches a month.
With her keyword weaved throughout, I was still able to use so much personality in her copy.
Some of my favourite lines from the project….
Ever since Kelly posted her updated elopement page, she booked out her entire year in advance, started getting inquiries for the next year, and averaged 5-10 inquiries a week.
It makes sense because not only did she get this page ranking—she’s on the first page of Google for a very competitive keyword at #5.
She says hiring Anika Rose Writes for her website copy was the best thing she’s ever done for her business.
This photographer purchased a custom proposal for one page that included keyword research, UX research and previous client interviews, very similar to my Premium Website Copy package.
Moral of the story?
You can get expertise, personality, and SEO all in one
